What Evernote does better
A web clipper, search that reads text in pictures and PDFs, calendar connections, sharing, and AI features. Notelet has none of them yet.
Where Notelet is different
No limits and no subscription: every feature is free. Evernote’s Starter plan is £64.90 a year for 1,000 notes on three devices, and Advanced £154.90 a year for unlimited (prices shown to UK visitors). Notelet runs on Linux too, and keeps reminders in a full reminders app.
Moving from Evernote to Notelet
- In Evernote, export each notebook as an ENEX file (
.enex). - In Notelet, choose File › Import to Notes… and pick the files.
- Each notebook becomes a folder. Titles, formatting, checkboxes, pictures and files, tags and dates come across.
More on the import page.
Common questions
Is there a free Evernote alternative without a note limit?
Notelet has no limit on notes, folders or devices, and every feature is free. It imports Evernote’s ENEX exports.
Can Notelet clip web pages?
Not yet. You can paste a link or text into a note.
Is Notelet’s sync free?
Syncing through storage you already have (your own S3 or WebDAV server, or a folder Dropbox, iCloud Drive or OneDrive keeps in step on a computer) is free for good. Notelet Cloud gives the first 1,000 accounts 5 GB free for life; bigger plans (50 GB for £10 a year, 200 GB for £25 a year) open soon.
