Keep it for 14 days
Stay a tester for 14 days in a row and open Notelet now and then. Anyone who leaves the test sooner doesn’t count towards the 12. After that you can leave whenever you like, and Notelet stays on your phone.
Google lets a new app into its store once 12 testers have kept it for 14 days. Joining takes about a minute on your Android phone, and you get each new version first.

Google asks you to sign in first: use the Google account your phone’s Play Store uses. Choose Join group, then Join group again in the box that opens. Only Notelet can post in the group or see who’s in it, so it won’t fill your inbox: it’s how Google knows you’re a tester.
Open the groupChoose Become a tester. The page then says you’re a tester. If the button isn’t there, Google hasn’t caught up with step 1 yet: wait a minute and open it again.
Open the testChoose Install. Already using the APK from this website? Google Play’s Notelet is the same app, so it updates the one you have and your notes stay where they are.
Open Google PlayStay a tester for 14 days in a row and open Notelet now and then. Anyone who leaves the test sooner doesn’t count towards the 12. After that you can leave whenever you like, and Notelet stays on your phone.
Google asks how the test went, so every word helps. In Notelet, choose Settings › Report a Bug, come and talk on Discord, or write to hello@noteletapp.com.
You’re signed in with a different Google account from the one that joined the group, or Google hasn’t caught up yet. Check the account at the top right of the page (in the Play Store, your picture at the top right), then try again in a minute.
Steps 1 and 2 work on a computer too, signed in with the same Google account. In step 3, Google Play’s Install button lets you choose your phone, and Notelet arrives on it.
Write to hello@noteletapp.com with the Google account’s address and we’ll add you by hand. Then step 1 isn’t needed: start at step 2 once we’ve said you’re in.
